General waste
Any everyday waste that is non-recyclable is general waste. It does not include medical waste, chemicals, or hazardous products.
What do we offer?
General waste, sometimes known as residual or trade waste, is common everyday rubbish that cannot be recycled. It is free of any apparent or actual pathological/infectious, radioactive or hazardous chemical contamination.
Food waste
Food waste can be classified as any food that is not ultimately eaten and the waste can occur throughout the food system, during production, processing, distribution, retail, and consumption.
Food waste can be in the form of;
-
Food waste from bakeries or confectioneries
-
Expired and non-sellable food from stores and shops
-
Left-over food and waste from food preparation in restaurants
-
Packaged food waste
What do we offer?
We will conduct an initial assessment of your bin size requirements and collection requirements. We will then provide customers with their Waste Transfer notes, Duty of Care documents and appropriate bin(s) with an emptying schedule that would have pre-agreed in line with their waste needs.
Dry mixed recycling
DMR is an acronym for Dry Mixed Recycling. This is more often used by businesses such as shops and restaurants that generate lots of waste. DMR simply represents waste that is free from contaminants, such as food or garden waste. This waste type represents an innovative solution that allows businesses to recycle without the need for different containers for different waste types. It is time efficient as you would not need to go through the rigours of sorting out waste products in different waste bins. The DMR bin would usually include glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard. In line with our slogan which is “earth-saving and “cost-saving”, we encourage businesses to embrace dry mixed recycling because:
-
It reduces their impact on the environment as the amount of waste that goes to landfill is reduced
-
Reduces cost in terms of landfill tax
What do we offer?
We offer an initial assessment of the bin size required along with waste collection requirements. In the next step, we provide you with Waste Transfer notes, Duty of Care documents and appropriate bin(s) with your emptying schedule.
Clinical waste
Clinical waste is the term used to describe waste produced from healthcare and similar activities that may pose a risk of infection, for example, swabs, bandages, dressings etc. The most used definition can be found in the Controlled Waste Regulations 1992. Clinical waste can be generated from beauty therapy shops, funeral homes, tattoo and piercing hubs, care homes and dental practices.
What do we offer?
Clinical waste comes in different forms with each form having different legislation on how it can be handled. Our staff is skilled at guiding you through what options you need to take to meet your clinical waste obligations.
